Een heel andere wereld: de opening van een nieuwe ruimte voor de kunst van warenhuis Galerie Lafayette; Lafayette Anticipations.
Iedereen was er. En voor iedereen champagne en hele kleine buitenaardse hapjes in overvloed. De familie wilde niet een zoveelste juwelendoos in de stad (Cartier, Vuitton, Ricard, Pinault)  maar ontwikkelde in het gebouw een aantal actieve werkplaatsen (metaalbewerking, kostuumatelier, hout, programmeurs ) om kunstenaars te ondersteunen in de uitvoering van hun werk.  Rem Koolhaas bedacht voor de binnenplaats in hoogte verstelbare vloeren, waarmee het vloeroppervlak van de tentoonstellingsruimte verveelvoudigde. Isabelle Andriessen is uitverkoren om daar werken te realiseren voor een groepstentoonstelling die in juni opent. Voor de opening van het gebouw was gekozen voor een harde, ongenaakbare, kale installatie van de Amerikaanse kunstenares Lutz Bacher. Dat was jammer.

Everyone was there. And for everyone champagne and very small alien bites in abundance. The family did not want another jewelery box in the city (Cartier, Vuitton, Ricard, Pinault) but developed a number of active workshops in the building (metalworking, costume workshop, wood, programmers) to support artists in the performance of their work. Rem Koolhaas came up with height-adjustable floors for the courtyard, with which the floor area of the exhibition space multiplied. Isabelle Andriessen was chosen to realize works for a group exhibition that opens in June. Before the opening of the building was chosen for a hard, inaccessible, bare (sound) installation by the American artist Lutz Bacher. That was a pity.
